I've noticed a lot less recurring stuff here on Oppo lately. This makes me kind of sad! I'm partly responsible, because I have two series to my name and I've neglected both of them. But I'd like to gauge interest in a daily themed photodump posted bright and early, otherwise known as The Morning Dump.
I've done a couple !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and folks seem to be enjoying them. I'm thinking I'll post them around 9am or so, at least 10 cool pictures from various corners of the internet centered on a make, model, body style, racing style, etc. Possibilities are endless! I know it's hardly revolutionary, but I think it's important for us as a community to have some things like this. Drop any suggestions (including "don't do this") in the comments!

There seems to be more, "PLEASE FP ME" stuff recently, and less community oriented stuff. I try to get an interesting Craigslist post every morning, but not every day usually.
I also have two recurring series, Both of which I haven't really kept up with. One being extremely vulgar automotive poetry, and the other one being angry Craigslist sellers, which I haven't been looking for. Probably some others in there also.

I like it! Do you want others to dump in the comments?

People are proclaiming "new series" or a recurring thing all the time. They usually do it for a bit, then stop, then post again later about how sorry they are for not keeping it up. And the world goes on.
If it's good, and people like it, and it's engaging, you will know quickly. If it's not, then it will be more work than it's worth, and you'll end up feeling like it's not getting enough attention. Then you'll start "reposting for the afternoon crew" or morning crew, or whatever crew. Then you'll finally realize that good, engaging oppo content is inherently varied, and a series is not likely going to get the amount of attention you think would make it worthwhile to continue to do.
That said, GO FOR IT!
/ sorry to rant...I'm obviously still on the uphill hump battle today

There is a photography kinja, just FYI.
I remember running the best damn comment in town. it was hard work and had poor reception. Im not trying to discourage you but because oppo has gotten so big in the last few years its pretty hard to do a recurring idea here, too much comes and goes and its a surprising amount of work.

You're right, and I've certainly been guilty of announcing a grand plan and then abandoning it.

Oh I know, and I've gotten discouraged before by the amount of work required, but a photodump is pretty easy to throw together.

Just carry out your grand plan without the announcement. If it goes well and you can keep up with what you planned, great! If you can't keep up with it, nobody will know you didn't meet your goals. Under-announce and over-deliver!
